2019 St. Louis Gift Guide

The holiday season is here people!!! This is not a drill! And if you still need to cross off a few people off your list while supporting local, then this is the perfect blog post for you! This is my 3rd year creating this blog post and I can’t tell you how amazed I am every year to find such great local businesses creating amazing products. If you are looking to support local this season and get some unique gifts for your loved ones then keep reading this guide as I’m sure there is something for everyone on your list!

Plus if you’re looking to any of these items and meet the incredible people behind these amazing brands, I am also including where there store is, where you may be able to find their products or where you can see them in upcoming pop ups. Some even are offering some discount codes for all of y’all!

Mrs. B’s was one of the products I was very excited to trying myself. I love her story and how all of her products are made with all natural materials that are perfect for anyone and especially for those who may struggle with finding produts that do not irritate their skin. So far I have been using the foaming body scrub and let me say it smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling nicely exfoliated but not like I overly exfoliated which I have personally struggled with in the past when buying a scrub from a drugstore. If you’re looking to add clean products to your everyday life I highly suggest you Mrs. B’s!

In case you needed anymore convincing here is all that is and is not in her products:
Natural Ingredients • Scientifically Formulated
What is Not in our products is almost as important as what is in them.
All of our products are Sulfate-Free•Gluten-Free•Phthalate-Free• Cruelty Free. Nourishing Skincare For Your Whole Family. Handmade in the USA.

Where You Can Find Mrs. B’s:
You can visit Mrs. B’s on December 15th @ the “Holiday Market On The Boulevard” in Richmond Heights.

You may also find her products at the following locations:
1. Local Harvest Grocery in Tower Grove
2. Mac’s Local Buys on Cherokee inside Bluewood Brewing
3. Purity Apothecary on Cherokee

Emily Stahl Design Co. is a business that I have kept seeing pop up everywhere I shopped it felt like! Every time I would see her prints they were always so on point for the season we were in and very beautifully made. Her prints are clean and fun, making it very easy to add to any set up you may currently have. I love these holiday prints she created because you can easily add them to a frame and prop them up to give your place a little holiday spirit without having to buy a ton of decorations. Plus if you know someone who use to live in St. Louis, these would be a great hometown gift or them.

Also, shameless plug- she recently designed tote bags to be given out at a Blues game for Teacher Appreciation Night and they were so cute!

Megan is another very talented woman who runs a modern design + lettering studio in town called The Mod Company LLC. She creates great St. Louis prints and pins like the one in this picture which I am super excited to frame and place on my wall. I also love quotes and sayings that are very straight forward with a sense of humor and these cards amongst other prints she has in her shop are some of my favorites. If you’re like me you’re always looking natural products to incorporate in your everyday life to help bring out the best in you or natural remedies for when you get sick. I am very cautious with what I put into my body and a true believer that you are what you consume. I know that figuring out what may best work for you can be a little intimating at times and this is where Forest and Meadow comes in to help! Forest and Meadow is a local herb and clinic, meaning that you can meet with Amanda (owner) during a session to figure out what what herbs may work best for you. The best thing about Forest and Meadow is that they create small batches of anything they create in house, so you will always receive the freshest product every time!

Where You Can Find Forest and Meadow:
Forest and Meadow just had their grand opening on Dec 7th!
3228 Ivanhoe Ave. St. Louis, MO 63139

Amanda is an herbalist trained in the Vitalist Tradition – what exactly is Vitalism?

Vitalism is about channeling the body’s natural abilities to heal by looking to the wisdom of Nature. It looks to the Life Power, or Vital Force, within each unique individual as a guide to understanding their current state of balance and imbalance. By paying attention to the Vital Force, we can gain clues as to the most appropriate path to healing for each person.

Who doesn’t love a great soy candle? And even more a hand poured candle made by a very talented local woman business owner of Glow Candle Co., Natalie! I have come to learn so much about candles over the past years and one thing that I love that is included in each candle you purchase from her are instructions on how to properly burn a candle to get the most out of it. This being something I have learned in the past few years but that no one ever told me so I love that she provides this tidbit of information for new candle owners (as crazy as that may sound.) I have been burning her candle since we received it and let me tell you, it makes the whole place smell amazing without being super overwhelming even when you light it for the first time.

Everyone loves candles and especially receiving them as a gift, so shop local and think of Glow Candle Co. the next time you’re thinking of purchasing a candle!

I have been a fan of Arch Apparel ever since they started and have had the opportunity to work with them for almost 3 years and I have loved seeing how Aaron has grown the business to what it is today. I have actually owned and used a Wandering Ash Tree product for a year and let me tell ya I carry it EVERYWHERE it me. I have the card holder and if you are anything like me you have way too many gift cards and reward cards and you might try to place them all in your wallet for that one time in which may use it but then your wallet ends up getting over stuffed and you’re unable to open it or get any cards out. In comes this handy dandy card holder, I place all my gift cards and reward card into this and I carry it everywhere I go and because it doesn’t take up a lot of space it is prefect! Especially because it is made of leather, I know that this is made to last. Throughout the year it has gotten a few little scuffs but I think it gives it great character. Ashlee has other great leather goods that are sold at SUCH a reasonable price and that are items that you will actually use in your everyday life like coffee sleeves, a field notes passport cover and much more!
