5 Kitchen Purchases Worth Investing In

5-kitchen-items-worth-it

From someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen (pre covid), I wanted to share 5 kitchen items that I think are worth the purchase and that will help make your time in the kitchen a little more enjoyable. Also, if you are looking for that perfect gift for someone who might need these upgrades or is spending more time on the kitchen or possibly add something to your wish list I highly recommend to consider these as you are doing your holiday shopping or keep it in mind for another time. All the links for all of the items I will be chatting about will be at the end of this post.

Brita– If you don’t have a water filter in your fridge or maybe don’t want to have to worry about replacing it then I highly recommend investing in a Brita. We have had ours for a while and I have to admit it took me a little to get use to because in Texas you can take a several gallon jug and fill it at a station and come home and plop it on top of your water cooler. But since it is only 2 of us this is a little easier and also because we don’t have the water filling stations here in Missouri.

Pressure Cooker– Obviously InstaPot is the mvp of all the pressure cookers and if you own one, know someone who owns one then you have head how much they love it and use it on the daily. We have had ours for years and started off with the smallest version and this year updated to a bigger one but I would say that if it is always good to start off with a smaller version if you know you will be cooking for less people but if you know you will be cooking for more then def get a bigger one. Honestly, cooking everything in the pressure cooker tastes so much better and if you have a crock pot and love that then you will LOVE upgrading to this because it also has a crock pot feature, pretty much does everything you need. And I am all about less appliances and trust me when you try it you will understand the hype and never go back!

Silicone Baking Sheets– I have mentioned these in my previous post (25 Amazon Items Worth the Hype for $25 and Under) and they really do make all the difference in helping for an easy clean up and not having to purchase aluminum foil or parchment paper. This is one of those items that you don’t realize how much better of an option it is until you use it and then you just get it.

Air Fryer– This was an item that I thought I didn’t need, mainly because I don’t like having so many appliances but I love fries and I kept running into issues when making them at home. Being the fry lover that I am and not wanting to always have to buy fries from places (because that can get pricey) I would buy frozen fries and the really good kind and make them in the oven but the consistency was never the same and in the summer  if I was making a big batch, our kitchen would get way too hot. So I finally tried the air fryer from the brand InstaPot (they make more than just pressure cookers!) and let me tell ya, not having to turn on the oven to make something that can be done in the airfryer has saved me SOOO much time and money!

Glass Containers– And last but certainly not least, my glass food containers! I made the switch about 4 years ago now and this was a purchase that I wanted to make all at once because I already knew what sizes I would need because of what I was currently using. I also didn’t want the hassle of having to take my lunch to work in a plastic container and having to put everything on a plate or bowl to heat up because that would be double the dishes and I do not heat my food in plastic because of all the chemicals it has. So if you’re ready to make this switch or know someone who is then gift this to them or add it to your list for this holiday season. Just another great way to be more environmentally friendly and to feel a little more like a an adult that has their sh*t together!

*I do want to mention that if you are making this swap be sure to keep a few for when you have to give a container with food to someone because not everyone is always great at returning these to you.*
