Easy Aldi Cheeseboard for $20

Aldi-cheese-board-for-$20

Who doesn’t love a good cheese board?! I have found that you can make a pretty great board with about $20 from shopping at Aldi and no this isn’t a sponsored post but hey, Aldi you know where to find me. Please keep in mind that prices will vary depending on where you live but overall I believe you can find some great products to serve for a very affordable price. For the purpose of this post I also made sure to select items that you can find year round, seasonal items will always cost a little more but sometimes are worth the splurge. I also went ahead and added a few extra options that you can swap out or add to your cart if you have a little more to spend on your board, enjoy!

CHEESE- I usually try to stick to getting two different kinds of cheeses, a soft creamy one and a more solid sharp type of cheese. On average cheeses at Aldi will run you about $2.50- $3.50 each, my two go-to are listed below and honestly the two I think you can never go wrong with.

White Cheddar
Brie

CRACKERSI personally love pairing my cheese with a cracker that is more on the light flavored side and light and another cracker that is a little thicker with a little more flavor to it compared to the first one. Crackers at Aldi run at about $1.25-$2 each for a single pack but they also have variety packs available in case you wanted to add several types of crackers to pair.

Original Crisp Crackers
Woven Wheat Crackers

FRUIT- I always like to have something fresh on my board and I usually try to stick to something seasonal as it usually is more affordable and you might only need 1 or 2 apples instead of buying a bag of apples. I recommend keeping in mind the amount of people you will have and purchase the amount of fruit that you think you might need most of the time when I have bought a bag of grapes I have never had them all gone after hosting and having a broad to graze on. Fruit at Aldi can range anywhere from .50 cents (for one piece of fruit) to $4/$5 if you’re buying a bag of fruit or paying by the pound. Go-tos if you don’t want to overthink it are listed below (alternatively you can always also go with dry fruit) but never buy pre cut fruit because you will end up spending more than you need to.

Apples
Grapes

CHOCOLATE- You gotta have some sweet on your board and my go to is always a chocolate bars that I can break up into sharable pieces. I have been pleasantly surprised with Aldi’s chocolate, I’ve listed three of my favorite bars that carry a variety of flavors depending on what you might like. At most these chocolate bars range from $1-$2 each

Choeur
Moser Roth
Schogetten

NUTS/SEEDS- I personally feel that you need can’t have a cheese board without without some type of nut or seeds. I love something salty to go with my board and you pick a few more affordable options like peanuts, pumpkin seeds (my fav) or a bag a cashews if you have a few more extra bucks to spend. Nuts in general can run a little on the higher side deepening with you pick but on average nuts and seeds run on average $2-$7.

Peanuts
Pumpkin Seeds
Cashews

Alright, so if you got the 2 cheese, 2 crackers, one choice of fruit, 1 chocolate bar, cashews and pumpkins seeds you’re looking at about $20 for all of this! Don’t forget this doesn’t include the serving portion because if you’re hosting a small group of 4 people these items could easily give you 2 servings. At the end of the day price will vary on where you’re located, what you pick, how many people you will be sharing your board with and if you want to add more than what I just listed here. So if you’re wanting to add a little more to your board and have a few more bucks to spend check out my recommendations below to really impress your guests with your Aldi cheese board!

ADDITIONAL ADD-ONS:

OLIVES I personally LOVE olives and whenever Aldi gets their specialty stuffed olives (usually around the holidays) I enjoy adding them to my board or just having them at home to snack on.

DIPS/SPREADS- For my spreads I like to include honey or jelly to drizzle/spread on a cracker or cheese, I personally love the brie and strawberry jelly combination. For dips I like to include a hummus or ranch dip if I have veggies or pita to serve with it or a queso dip if I opt for having tortilla chips on my board. Honestly you can have a lot of combo options when you add a dip or spread to your board.

VEGGIES- Oh do I love fresh veggies as much as I do fresh fruit on my board. Something about that fresh crunch a veggie can bring to your board that I just love and when I do serve veggies I make sure to have a ranch to pair along with it as that seems to be most people’s favorite combo.

MEATS- Now I no longer eat much meat since switching to being plant base but when I am hosting several people over I like to take into consideration everyone’s likes and I’ll buy an assortment of meats to have on my board. And let me tell ya Aldi has some great ones because they are always some of the first items that get eaten.

Hope you enjoyed this quick guide that helps show you how great of a cheese board you can have with just $20 when you shop at Aldi. Plus, if you have have a few more bucks to spend you have a great variety of additional items to pick from to really make your board a treat for yourself and everyone you’d like to share it with.
