How to Wear a Turtleneck

The holidays may be over but that doesn’t mean the cold is gone for most parts of the country. Time to bundle up and stay warm, while being stylish at the same time! This year I discovered turtlenecks and how to make them work for all body types. So if you’re looking to purchase one yourself I have a few tips before you do so.

  1. Start with a light weight/material to wear under your coat. I know the chunkcy sweaters are also awesome but they also can be very hot and lord knows it may be freezing inside but it is always warm in the office. Plus you give your neck some time to get use to being hugged by the turtleneck, trust me!
  2. Pick a neutral tone to start off like black or cream. Thea reason being is that you want to be abe to wear it with multiple things and if you’re trying a turtleneck for the first time you are going to want to play it safe. Plus black looks flattering on everyone, so why not start there?!
  3. Make sure the material comfortable and not itchy. This may seem like a no brainer but more times often than not I will buy a cute sweater and it is itchy so I have to wear a long sleeve under to prevent it. A turtle neck s something you don’t really want to add a layer under.
  4. Make sure the cut is perfect. What I mean by this is make sure the sleeves aren’t past your wrist or be able to fold them and make sure it falls only a inch or so from your stomach. This way you can tuck it in if ned be without looking bulky.
